MedicAlert® Technology

Activation Devices

Advances in information technology, particularly in the areas of wireless communications, location-based services and biometrics, provide us with an opportunity to add value to our offerings, to serve our membership better and to play a vital role in the delivery of healthcare on a global scale.

For 48 years, the MedicAlert® emblem has served us well as an activation device. It is, as one long-time MedicAlert member claims, just a great idea - simple and straightforward, unambiguous and difficult to ignore.

The challenges and the opportunities are clear, and MedicAlert is working to identify the potential benefits of an alerting device that uses emerging technology. Once we identify the right technology and product, we will develop the strategy that maximizes the benefit.
